Nellore: Private teachers have organised 'Bhikshatana (seeking alms)' in the city on Sunday demanding support from the Government. They asked for a support of Rs. 20,000 to each private teacher's family who lost their revenue during the lockdown as the managements had not paid salaries to them.

Private teachers organised the activity at VRC Junction in the city. Representatives of AP Private Teachers Welfare Association said that the State Government had issued orders to pay salaries to the private teachers for March, April and May months. But the managements have failed to follow directions.

The teachers criticised that even officials from the education department had failed to mount pressure on the managements of the private schools to give salaries to the teachers during the lockdown. So, they appealed to the Chief Minister to extend support of Rs. 20,000 to the private teachers for bailing them out from the financial troubles.
