Ongole: DGP Goutam Sawang interacted with the women staff and family members of the police personnel throughout the state by organising a videoconference at various police stations, as part of the Women's Day celebrations on Sunday. The women staff shared their opinions, ideas with the DGP and expressed satisfaction over the measures being taken by the government for the safety and security of the women in the state.

The DGP interacted with the Prakasam district women police, members of the police families and Mahila Mitras through the video conference at the Taluka police station. He acclaimed that the women are thriving in all kinds of jobs and categories and advised them to not feel inferior to anyone.

The daughter of Taluka Sub-Inspector of Police K Bhavanarayana, Sandhya Rani told the DGP that the district police led by the SP Siddharth Kaushal was taking the best initiatives to safeguard the district people and initiatives like Abhay Drop Home Vehicle Service and Disha stations ensure the safety of women. She expressed happiness for giving weekly offs to the police personnel to spend time with their families.

Speaking with the DGP, a Mahila Mitra volunteer, V Yamini praised the SP Siddharth Kaushal for giving utmost priority for women's safety. The DGP asked the women to create great awareness about the Disha app and encourage the use of it.

Following the orders of the SP, the district Police conducted blood donation camps and medical camps for women police personnel in police function hall at Ongole and felicitated the women police officers on the eve of Women's Day. The trainee IPS officer P. Jagadeesh, additional SP (Admin) B. Sarath Babu, Ongole town DSP K.V.V.N.V. Prasad, special branch II inspector N. Srikanth Babu, Ongole taluka C.I M. Lakshman, other police staff also participated in the program.
