Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Fakeerappa Kaginelli said that the candidates and agents who come to the counting centres during votes counting must have vehicle pass.

Kurnool: Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Fakeerappa Kaginelli said that the candidates and agents who come to the counting centres during votes counting must have vehicle pass. He, along with the District Collector S Sathyanarayana, visited G Pullaiah Engineering College on Sunday morning and inspected the security arrangements, where votes will be counted.

They inspected the parking lots for the vehicles of VIPs, agents and candidates besides media centre.

Then they inspected the strong rooms where the ballot boxes were preserved and the tables arranged for counting according to Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies.

The SP, on the occasion, said that threefold security arrangement has been arranged at the counting centres. Tight security has been beefed up at G Pullaiah Engineering College, Ravindra Engineering College and Rayalaseema University where the counting of votes would take place, said the SP.

He further said that 10 DSPs, 35 Circle Inspectors, 91 Sub Inspectors, 191 Assistant Sub Inspectors and Head Constables, 411 constables, 73 women constables, 366 Home Guards, 5 Platoons of Special Party Forces, 6 platoons of CAPF forces and some additional forces will be deployed at the counting centres.

The SP also said that the police officials would monitor the entire counting process through closed circuit cameras from the command control room. Will provide LED screens to know the latest information of the counting. A media centre for the journalists will be provided at the college premises, Fakeerappa said.

Election Observing Officer Rupak Muzumdar, Kurnool Municipal Corporation Commissioner P Prasanthi, DRO, Venkateshwarulu, DSPs, B Srinivasulu, DV Ramana Murthy, CIs, Maheshwara Reddy (SB), Vikrama Simha, Maheshwara Reddy and Chalapathi Rao were also present.
