PDS rice racket busted, four held in Nellore district
The police have busted a PDS rice racket and arrested four people in connection with the illegal transportation and storage of PDS rice at a warehouse near Krishnapatnam port in Nellore district on Friday.

During the raid, the police arrested SK Sayyed of Vijayawada, M Veera Venkata Satya Siva Prasad of Kakinada city, K Ravi of Chemugunta in Nellore, and B Venkateswarlu of Piduguralla.
The accused purchased a huge quantity of PDS rice from the people and planned to export to Togo in Africa and stored PDS rice after entering a contract with a buyer through MOI Commodities India Private Limited.
In the raid, the police seized Rs. 4 Cr worth trucks used for shifting the material and the invoices. SP Bhaskar Bhushan appreciated the effort of the Krishnapatnam Police for fast investigation and arrested of the accused.
