People caught while distributing cash to voters
YSR Congress leaders blame they are staff members of Narayana Institutions
Nellore, April 7: The two-town Police on Sunday detained five persons while distributing cash to the voters at NC Balaiah Nagar, which is part of Nellore City assembly segment.
The persons who are said to belong to Telugu Desam party and were taken into custody after Flying Squad Team (FST) In-Charge Damodar informed to the police that the persons were luruing the voters with cash.
"FST In-Charge Damodar gave information that some activists belong to Telugu Desam have been distributing cash to the voters along with pamphlets at Balaiah Nagar.
We intercepted them and found cash of Rs. 2.74 lakh with them and seized it.
As per directions of the election officials we have booked a case against five persons who will be taken into custody", said Two Town SI K. Pratap.
Meanwhile, the YSR Congress leaders alleged that the persons distributing cash were employees of Narayana Institutions and were luring the voters offering cash.
It may be recalled that this is the third case of cash seizure by the police in Nellore City assembly segment from where Municipal Minister P Narayana is contesting.
