Polavaram: The Prohibition and Excise Department police raided an arrack manufacturing unit at Repallivada village of the mandal on Thursday and destroyed 1,500 litres of jaggery wash.
According to Prohibition and Excise Circle Inspector Satyanarayana, they seized the unit as part of raids being held for quite some time to check arrack menace.
He said they registered a case against the makers of arrack.
He suggested people not to consume arrack as it is harmful to health.
