Kadapa: Police arrested an 8 member gang allegedly responsible for playing Matka gambling at Mandapam street in Prodaturu town recovered Rs 6.05 lakhs cash, 6 mobile phones, 2 ballpoint pens, 8 Matka slips from the on Friday. The accused were identified as Syed Ali Peera, M.Sankar Reddy, Sheik Saddam Hussain, Sheik Anwar, C.Srinivasulu, A.Suryanarayana, Sheik Peera, G.Basha of Proddatur town.
Addressing press conference at Prodaturu DSP L.Sudhakar said that the following tip-off police conducted raids at Mandapam street in the town arrested the accused while indulging in the crime. He said that among them Syed Ali Peera was having Rowdy sheet in Proddaturu 1 town police station and cases registered against him related to Matka gambling in 2, 3, rural police stations. Proddatur CI K.Narasimha Reddy, SI Narayana Yadav and others were present.
