Kakinada: The facility for rail commuters provided one-and-a-half year ago has now turned out to be a place for dumping of municipal waste in Kakinada smart city. Former Kakinada MLA V Venkateswara Rao took the initiative for provision of facility for passengers from west side of the railway station towards Sri Nagar (Bhanugudi area) noticing the plight of passengers particularly during night times to reach their destinations. The way was provided with tree plantation on both sides and centre markings also. But the same was now turned as place for dumping of municipal waste.

Several rail commuters express unhappiness and anger over dumping of municipal waste on both sides of the way leaving little space for road users. They expressed over this concern. When contacted, AMC Ch Naga Narasimha Rao said that he will inspect the area and take necessary measures to remove the waste.
