Rajamahendravaram: APSRTC East Godavari region is getting as many as 12 new air conditioned Indra buses shortly to cater to the needs of the passengers. Of the total buses, as many as two buses allotted to Kakinada depot, six buses to Amalapuram depot and four buses to Razole depot.

The new Indra buses replace the existing buses which have completed 12 lakh km of journey.

Four more Indra buses were also joining the fleet in addition to the 12 buses. At present, the region is having as many as 41 air conditioned buses and among these,24 Indra buses, six night riders, two Vennela buses, six Amaravathi buses and three Garuda services.

Out of the 41 air conditioned buses, as many as 15 buses from Amalapuram, two buses from Rajamahendravaram, 11 buses from Razole and 13 buses from Kakinada are operating to Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Tirupathi and Visakhapatnam.

As per the directions of RTC, the officials are taking steps to increase the occupancy ratio along with providing facilities on par with private buses.
