Rally stresses need to wear helmet: Collector

Srikakulam: District Collector J Nivas on Sunday appealed to bike riders to wear helmets mandatorily to avoid fatal accidents. An awareness rally and a meeting was organised on Road Safety Measures here on Sunday. On the occasion, the Collector appealed to bike riders to wear helmet while riding the bike.

He also asked the riders not to use cell phone while riding the bike and not to ride bike after consuming liquor. High speed driving was also causing accidents, he pointed out. Due to rash and negligence riding of bikes, the riders and people would also lose their lives and cause irreparable loss to their dependents. On the occasion, private hospitals, GEMS and KIMS managements organized 2K run in Srikakulam city.
