Role of sector officers key in polls, says observer
Eluru Parliamentary Constituency general observer Dev Dutt Sarma has said the role of sector officers in conducting elections is crucial. He convened a meeting with sector officers of assembly segments falling under his purview here on Monday.
Eluru: Eluru Parliamentary Constituency general observer Dev Dutt Sarma has said the role of sector officers in conducting elections is crucial. He convened a meeting with sector officers of assembly segments falling under his purview here on Monday.
Sarma said that the sector officers should have a plan of action to execute duties. They should have comprehensive information about the supply of polling equipment to the polling stations concerned.
They should take appropriate steps to ensure to conduct polling at the stipulated time. They should be ready to settle the complaints received on polling day. They should pay a visit to each of the polling stations under their jurisdiction and establish better coordination with district polling officer and returning officers and keep ready necessary EVMs and VVPATs to replace the malfunctioning units.
Meanwhile, Sarma on Tuesday said that people can give complaints relating to Model Code of Conduct violation to him directly or over phone number 94905 67300. He said the complaints will be accepted between 4 pm to 5 pm at irrigation department guest house near Alluri Sitaramaraju Stadium.
