S P Sambamurthy's bronze statue unveiled in Nellore
Noted playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam unveiled his father and popular Harikatha exponent Sripathi Panditharadhyula Sambamurthy’s bronze statue at Kasturi Devi High School on Tuesday.
Nellore: Noted playback singer S P Balasubrahmanyam unveiled his father and popular Harikatha exponent Sripathi Panditharadhyula Sambamurthy's bronze statue at Kasturi Devi High School on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Balasubrahmanyam expressed his gratitude to Nelloreans as they still remember his father and continue to shower their affection on his family.
He also said that international sculptor Rajkumar Vudayar from Rajamahendravaram made the bronze statue. He expressed thanks to the people of the city and music lovers who have been continuing the tradition of organising Tyagaraja Jayanti festivals every year on a grand note without a break which was in fact started by his father.
He said he would donate the building where his parents lived for running a Vedic School in the city. Balu felicitated designer and maker of the bronze statue Rajkumar on the occasion.
