Saraswathi Yagam performed at Durga temple in Vijayawada
Saraswathi Yagam was performed with great religious fervour at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devastanam atop Indrakeeladri hill here on Friday.
Vijayawada: Saraswathi Yagam was performed with great religious fervour at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devastanam atop Indrakeeladri hill here on Friday. A large number of students witnessed the special Saraswathi Yagam on the auspicious day of Mulanakshatram.
Temple chief priest V Sivaprasada Sarma conducted special pujas on the occasion and the temple Executive Officer MV Suresh Babu participated in the puja. Later, the priest gave blessings to the students.
Mulanakshatram is a very important day for Goddess Durga Devi and for this reason, the temple authorities conducted the Saraswathi Yagam. After completing the Yagam, the Temple EO distributed pens, books, Durga Devi Kankanam and prasadam to the students.
The EO said the ritual was performed on an auspicious day to ensure better results for the students in their upcoming examinations. Many students participated in the programme and took the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
