Solar CC cameras installed at Indira Priyadarshini Market

Tirupati: In an effort to enhance surveillance and prevent illegal and untoward activities, the bustling Indira Priyadarshini vegetable market in Tirupati has been equipped with solar-powered CC cameras. The initiative follows concerns raised by the public and a viral social media post regarding youth allegedly consuming drugs through injections at the market.
District Superintendent of Police V Harshavardhan Raju visited the market on Friday to assess the situation. He clarified that the incident being circulated online was not a recent one. During his visit, local vendors informed the SP that unidentified individuals were entering the market and engaging in antisocial activities and sought preventive action.
In response, SP Raju assured the public that surveillance would be intensified through the installation of CC cameras and deployment of additional staff to ensure safety and prevent such incidents in the future. Acting on his instructions, solar CC cameras were installed on Sunday under the supervision of Tirupati Town DSP Bhaktavatsalam and East CI Srinivas. A total of five solar-powered cameras have been strategically placed across the market premises to monitor activity effectively and enhance public safety.
