Spread of viral fevers continues in Anantapur
The number of patients suffering from Malaria, Dengue and other viral fevers in the district has been increased substantially during the past fortnight.
Anantapur: The number of patients suffering from Malaria, Dengue and other viral fevers in the district has been increased substantially during the past fortnight. More and more patients with complaints of Malaria and Dengue are coming to Government Hospitals and Primary Health Centres.
Recently, a one year old baby Jaswin Prince, died due to malaria while under treatment in government hospital. Her parents hailed from Kolimigundla mandal in Kurnool district. During the past fortnight eight deaths in various government hospitals were reported. During the past one week more than 1,000 patients were registered, especially in the children's ward with complaints of fever.
Poor sanitation in villages and towns is the main reason for the spread of mosquitos and viruses. The government and people have responsibility to maintain cleanliness on the roads, drains and garbage dumping points.
Government hospital Superintendent Ramaswamy Naik said to The Hans India' that majority of cases in OP are for fever treatment and some of them have symptoms of Malaria, Dengue and chikungunya. Every effort is being made by doctors to treat the patients.
The Dengue musquito refered to as Tiger Musquito is rampant in the district. In the district head quarters hospital, the number of those being treated with Dengue symptoms are increasing, he said.
