Sri Bharat confident of TDP retaining power

In an exclusive interview with The Hans India, Sri Bharat says though he had a plenty of career options to choose from and excel, he preferred politics to serve people. However, he quickly adds that it will not stop him from bringing the institution he heads as president on a global map.
An under graduate from Purdue University, West Lafayette, he later pursued a joint degree (MBA/MA) in Stanford University. The aspiring candidate says that his luxurious upbringing never came in the way of connecting with diverse communities. "I have travelled across 25 States in India so far. Some of them include remote regions of Assam, Manipur, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
Spending considerable time with people from underprivileged backgrounds at work sites and resolving their problems have been an integral part of my life," he explains. Impressed with an overwhelming response for his campaign that starts at 6 am and continues till late night, Sri Bharat says that some of the key areas of focus once he gets elected to power will be enhancing the quality life of people through employment opportunities, improved healthcare, agriculture, tourism and infrastructure development. His agenda also includes creating a society where equality, tolerance and trust rule irrespective of the people's caste, creed or religion.
About skill development for youth, the aspiring candidate mentions that it's one of the key components of his manifesto which is all set to be released soon. Acknowledging the existence of stiff competition, Sri Bharat says that he believes in the role of a strong opposition in a democracy. "It is good to have healthy competition. I like fighting with the fighters.
However, the focus is more on my strengths," he clarifies. On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent deriding statement: 'son-rise Andhra Pradesh' instead of sunrise AP (referring to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's keenness to promote his son Nara Lokesh), Sri Bharat asks, "What kind of an example the Prime Minister is setting for the people through such remarks? It is unfortunate that a leader of such stature is resorting to personal attacks."
Expressing confidence over the TDP retaining power, he adds, "People want a bright future. They believe that TDP will help them get what they aspire for. With the visionary of Chandrababu Naidu leading from the front, the party is sure to strike a chord with the masses and steer to victory."
