Strive to remove social inequalities, students told
Officer on Special Duty for the Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam University in Ongole Dr G Somasekhara said that the social work and social welfare students should strive to redress the inequalities, stigma and imbalances in society and work for its development with their awareness and knowledge.

The OSD participated in the get-together of the social work department held in the university, as a chief guest on Tuesday. The senior professor Dr P Venkatrao presided over the celebrations and asked the students to be very careful in the competitive world, develop professional knowledge and communication skills along with the competitive spirit and personal interest. He wished the students achieve greater heights in their career.
Dr R Srinivas said that as professionals of social work, they should have leadership qualities and practice it with social awareness. Dr Mande Harsha Preetham Dev Kumar said that social work is a community service and society will develop when the students develop the mentality of service to society. The department presented prizes to the students who scored better marks in the social work in the first year.
