Nellore: A suspected case of coronavirus had been admitted in Government General Hospital attached to the Medical College late on Monday despite not showing any symptoms. But, as part of taking preventive measures, medical and health officials have shifted the student who came recently from Italy to the isolation ward of the hospital.

The student belongs to Nellore city and had studied in Italy and return to the city three days ago. The officials kept him under isolation at the house for last three days and the students started suffering from simple dry cough for quite some time and the officials shifted him to the Isolation Ward in the GGH.

They collected samples from the person and sent to SVIMS, Tirupati, for testing. They are expecting result by Tuesday evening.

Until now, medical and health officials have quarantined around 19 persons across the district. "Currently, 15 persons are under general observation, said Dr G Rajya-lakshmi, " District Medical and Health Officer.
