Rajamahendravaram: As part of the environmental protection, the students of Sri Shirdi Sai Vidya Niketan and Dafne Asiatic School jointly took part in making of clay Ganesh idols on Friday for the upcoming Ganesh festival. The students prepared various types of Ganesh idols with clay to protect the greenery and environment.

The chairman of the institution T Sridhar said that by using Plaster of Paris and florescent colors the water is getting polluted after immersion. So everyone should feel the responsibility to protect the environment by using only clay Ganesh idols.

He said that this programme would create awareness among the students to protect the environment and not to use harmful chemicals and material for preparing Ganesh idols. About 3,000 clay Ganesh idols were prepared and distributed on the occasion. Director T Srividya, teachers and students participated in the programme.
