Vijayawada: With a view to boost merit and talent among the student community in both Telugu States Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Takshasila IAS Academy, Vijayawada, has announced scholarships worth Rs 1 crore to its civil service aspirants.
Addressing a press conference at the academy's Benz Circle campus here on Sunday, the academy Managing Director Dr BSN Durga Prasad and Academic Director Dr N Nageswara Rao IAS (Retd) said that a scholarship test will be conducted to civil service aspirants at its Benz Circle and Kamayya Thopu campuses in Vijayawada, Ascent Junior College on Sampath Vinayak Temple Road in Visakhapatnam, Sri Rama Engineering College, Karakambadi Road, Tirupati and KCP Skill Development Centre near Sai Baba Temple in Dwarakapuri Colony in Punjagutta area, Hyderabad on May 22.
Dr Nageswara Rao said that the academy, which secured seven ranks in a short span decided to distribute the scholarships as part of its committed social service drive. He said that participants can register their names on the academy website www.takshasilaias.com on or before May 19.
The academic director said that those who passed tenth standard in first division will have to write the test for the combined Inter plus IAS and Degree plus IAS course (total 6 years).Those who completed intermediate will have to write the test for Degree plus IAS course (total 4 years).
The retired IAS officer said that those who secure top three ranks in the above courses respectively will get free boarding and lodging facility besides free coaching. The aspirants who will obtain fourth and fifth ranks will be eligible for free coaching but they have to pay for boarding and lodging facility.
Sixth, seventh and eighth rankers will be eligible for 75 per cent fee concession and 9th and 10th ranks will obtain 50 per cent fee concession, he clarified. The aspirants who will get next 10 ranks (11 to 20) will get 20 per cent fee concession, he added. The former bureaucrat disclosed that the scholarship test will be conducted from 10 am to 12 pm on May 22. Participants will have to pay a nominal fee of `100, he added.
