Ongole: YSRCP district general secretary Ronda Anji Reddy alleged that it was TDP that encouraged the sand mafia in the state and looted crores of rupees of public money. He said that supporting sand mafia was also one of the reasons for the TDP's poor show in the elections but its leaders were daring to comment on YSRCP just to grab public attention and mislead the people.

Speaking at the YSR Congress party office in Ongole, Anji Reddy said that it was an act of shame that the TDP leaders, who earned crores of rupees on illegal transport of sand, now speaking and organising protests on the scarcity of sand in the state.

He said that after YS Jaganmohan Reddy becoming the chief minister, the state received sufficient rain and the rivers are overflowing. He questioned the TDP leaders that how could they expect to mine sand from the flooding rivers.

He alleged that they are trying to cash on it politically by organising protests. He announced that due to the floods, rivers have abundant sand that will be enough for next five years and the government will supply it for a lesser price when the river flow recedes.

He assured that the construction workers need not worry about the supply of sand and advised Pawan Kalyan not to fall prey to Chandrababu Naidu to comment on Jaganmohan Reddy but to see the reality.
