TDP expects landslide victory in Itchapuram
The Hans India on Sunday, B Ashok expressed confidence over his winning from Itchapuram second time also as welfare schemes implemented by the party benefitted a large number of families in the constituency.
Srikakulam: TDP Itchapuram candidate B Ashok, who is sitting MLA and contesting for second time, is confident on his victory. From 1983 after the foundation of TDP, candidates from the same party have been electing except in 2004. Speaking to The Hans India on Sunday, B Ashok expressed confidence over his winning from Itchapuram second time also as welfare schemes implemented by the party benefitted a large number of families in the constituency.
Q: Why people will vote again for TDP here?
A: Despite the financial crunch, the TDP government has been implementing number of welfare schemes like, Pasupu-Kunkuma, NTR Housing, Pensions, NTR Vydya Seva, Chandranna Bheema benefitting a large number of poor people and expressed confidence that they will definitely support the TDP this time also.
Q: What kind of development made in this segment by TDP?
A: Particularly in Itchapuram, we did a lot to prevent kidney ailments. Through NTR Sujala scheme, we started supply of safe drinking water to all villages from mandal headquarters. Dialysis facility started for patients at Sompeta hospital and facilities will be provided at Kaviti hospital soon to serve better to kidney patients. We are paying Rs 2,000 as pension for kidney patients who are suffering from advanced stage of disease.
Q: There is an allegation that large number of castes like Yadava, Reddika, Fishermen and Samanthas are being neglected?
A: No, it is not true and we have been giving priority to all castes here. We allotted Kaviti mandal parishat president (MPP) post to Samantha caste person, Reddika and Yadava caste people were appointed as agricultural market committee (AMC) chairmen in this segment and other caste people also selected for different posts in the segment.
Q: Is second cadre of partymen staying away from TDP campaign?
A: No it is not correct some persons who expected more by illegal means might be upset with transparent rule and their role is less in election as people are well aware and experiencing good governance.
Q: What are your strengths for winning?
A: From the beginning, Itchapuram people are supporting the TDP and this time also they continue it as they got benefitted with various welfare schemes. We have provided road facility to all villages. Irrigated water facility improved and proposals also ready for carrying Vamsadhara water into Bahuda river to overcome water scarcity here.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: To prevent kidney menace absolutely by detecting actual reasons, made coconut and cashew cultivation immune from cyclones here.
