Visakhapatnam East constituency MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu and TDP activists were attacked with stones. The incident happened when the TDP MLA reached Ramakrishnapuram to take part in a foundation-stone laying ceremony where YSRCP activists were also present.
The TDP MLA and activists were attacked with stones when they were taking part in the ceremony. Meanwhile, a couple of TDP activists got hurt in the clash that intensified in the neighbourhood.
Ramakrishna Babu activist who was said to be in safe condition, staged a protest at the locality, demanding justice be done to those who got hurt through stone-pelting and action be taken against the YSRCP leaders and activists for attacking the TDP workers.
A while later, police reached the spot to bring the situation under control.
