Tirumala: Taking a serious note on the baseless social media report about the Christian 'cross' mark on Tirumala temple, TTD Additional EO A V Dharma Reddy said a case has been registered on the social media portal and the miscreants behind it and appealed to devotees not to fall prey to such baseless reports.

Speaking in front of Tirumala temple on Monday, he said a case has been registered against the Facebook URL page-Talapatranidhi- which had mischievously morphed the electric decorative image of Kalasha on Srivari temple outer walls into a Christian 'cross' which created flutter. He said during all festivals various electrical decorations including Lord Hanuman, Garuda, Tirunamam and Purna Kumbham (Kalasha) delight the religious sentiments of the visiting pilgrims in the illumination.

As an effort to counter the social media portal affront against TTD, the officials showed the electric illuminations on the temple prakaram including Purnakumbha to devotees for a fact check resulting in the devotes expressing anguish and dismay over these baseless reports against TTD by the social media portal and a section of media.

Additional EO also warned that such miscreants and their intentional and vituperative acts to defame the Tirumala Divya Kshetra, the abode of Lord Venkateswara will not be tolerated.
