Tirupati: In the NIRF rankings, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) in Tirupati retained its rank band 151-200 for University category and obtained 42nd rank improving 4 ranks from last year in Pharmacy category, said the Vice Chancellor Prof D Jamuna.

She said that the University has participated in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2020 and the e-results were released on Thursday by Minister for HRD Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations and broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking of various universities and institutions.

This year, number of participating institutions increased by 20 percent as around 38,000 institutions have participated in the process.

Prof P Venkata Krishna, Director for University Ranking informed that NIRF 2020 is assessed for "Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practices; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception.

Along with the V-C, Rector Prof K Sandhyarani and Registrar Prof DM Mamatha congratulated the team of ranking, staff, and students of SPMVV for their efforts.
