Tirupati: World Human Rights Day observed
Under the aegis of Human Rights Organisation (HRO) `World Human Rights Day was observed in Government Girls School in Renigunta near here on Tuesday.
Tirupati : Under the aegis of Human Rights Organisation (HRO) `World Human Rights Day was observed in Government Girls School in Renigunta near here on Tuesday.
R Meera, secretary, WINS, city based NGO was the chief guest and addressed the gathering. Bonded labourers, migrants, victims of human triffick, mentally ill and other marginalised sections of people are deprived of their rights, she said. As responsible civil society, one should render all possible help to such women, children and men to protect them and help them lead a dignified life, she added.
HRO district research officer Yugandhar observed that efforts should be made to bring awareness among the youth on the need of protecting human rights. Marking the occasion, elocution and essay competitions on human rights were organised for the children. School Head Mistress EG Vishnuvardhanamma and others also spoke.
