TUDA awaits nod to bring Sri City SEZ under its ambit
In a significant development, TUDA (Tirupati Urban Development Authority) sent a proposal to government to bring Sri City SEZ a flourishing industrial area under its purview
Tirupati: TUDA (Tirupati Urban Development Authority) has sent a proposal to government urging it to bring Sri City SEZ, a flourishing industrial area, under its purview.
The proposal, which was sent by TUDA ten days back, is in all likelihood to be approved by the government bringing Sri City area, including the villages located within in the SEZ, back to Chittoor district.
The SEZ was tagged with NUDA (Nellote Urban Development Authority) by the previous TDP government in 2016, brushing aside the protests from various sections, including political parties and villagers.
TUDA vice chairman PS Girisha at a media conference here on Tuesday disclosed TUDA move to get Sri City under its purview.
He said as more than 90 Percent of the land acquired for Sri City SEZ is in Chittoor district, TUDA wanted it to be under its limit.
While Political pandits view the proposal as a step to undo the injustice done to the Chittoor district which naturally prove advantageous to YSRCP in the district, the home turf of TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu.
