Vijayawada: The political situation is hotting up in Gannavaram constituency in Krishna district with the local MLA, who belongs to the TDP, meeting Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

YSR Congress Party Gannavaram constituency in-charge Yarlagadda Venkata Rao too has given enough indications that he may quit the party if Vamsi is admitted into to the YSRCP. He has said he will announce his future course of action after meeting Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Even as the situation is turning tricky, a section of TDP leaders reportedly approached Venkat Rao to switch to their party. The rank and file of the YSR Congress met Venkata Rao at his residence in Vijayawada city. The activists raised slogans against Vamsi. They vowed to oppose Vamsi's entry into the YSR Congress Party.

Venkata Rao also said political brokers reigned supreme. He recalled that Vamsi had harassed the YSR Congress Party activists in Gannavaram constituency during the last five years. He exerted pressure on the police to file false cases against nearly 400 YSR Congress Party leaders.

He said he had agreed to contest from Gannavaram constituency thought it is not his home constituency. He said he had visited every house in the constituency and promoted Jagan Mohan Reddy's message to voters.

He, however, said he has full confidence in the Chief Minister, and he would announce his decision after meeting the latter. He quoted Minister for Transport Perni Nani as saying that Vamsi met the Chief Minister to discuss development activities in the constituency.
