Unauthorised layouts are mushrooming in and around Rajam town in the district.
Srikakulam: Unauthorised layouts are mushrooming in and around Rajam town in the district. Rajam town is located at prime place in between Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts. Direct transportation facility is available from Rajam to Palakonda, Srikakulam city in Srikakulam district and Saluru, Parvathipuram, Bobbili, Ramabhadrapuram, Cheepurupalli, Garividi, Nellimarla and Vizianagaram town in Vizianagaram district.
Rajam is also business centre for Tarlam, Badangi mandals in Vizianagaram district and Vangara, Ragidi, Santhakaviti, Ponduru, Rajam, Palakonda, Kotturu and Sitampeta mandals in Srikakulam district. Rajam is fastest growing town in the district.
The owners of the layouts are selling plots to private parties through registered documents and concerned sub-registrars also registering the plots without verifying properly. The unauthorized layouts located in survey numbers 31, 40, 119, 62/5 and 62/6 at Saradi area, 107, 181 in Rajam, 13, 14, 33, 21, 23, 55, 56, 57, 76, 78, 84, 86, 88, 170, 173, 176 at Ponugutivalasa area, 53, 54 at Gopalapuram area, 37, 66, 70, 84 at Kottavalasa and 70, 73, 113, 117, 132, 138, 140, 145 at Kondampeta area. Total area of the layouts are measured as 71 acres extent and total real estate ventures are 21 in Rajam.
"All the layout owners are selling plots without getting permissions either from municipality or from Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) as Rajam is comes under limits of VUDA," Rajam Municipal Commissioner V Satyannarayana told The Hans India. We have communicated on these layouts to sub-registrar Rajam and will also send information to district registrar to prevent their registrations, he added.
