Visakhapatnam: It was one of the rare opportunities for Government Children Home for Girls as 45 sailors of US Navy and US Marine met them here on Friday.

Playing sports and interacting with them for about three hours, the US ambassadors, the students had a gala time, sharing their experiences at the interactive meet organised by Ken Foundation Society.

The sailors and students played volleyball, kho-kho, throw ball, tug of war (row pulling) and they danced together for film songs. The sailors are part of more than 500 US Marines, who arrived in India to participate in the nine-day joint exercise with 1,200 Indian soldiers, sailors, and airmen include the INS Jalashwa (L41) and Germantown.

"These girls are our future and it's our duty help them achieve their dreams. We have to invest in them now for a bright future," said John Drew Giblin, Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate General, Hyderabad. "Nothing gives more pleasure than engaging with these girls," he added.
