Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao on Sunday said the migrant workers from other states, will be sent back to their respective states by trains and buses and the state government was taking all measures in this regard.

Dwaraka Tirumala Rao on Sunday inaugurated two Chalivendrams one at Benz circle and other at Gollapudi Y junction and distributed footwear, water bottles, ORS packets and refreshments on the occasion.

He interacted with some migrant workers and enquired about their native places and other details. The police department has arranged the Chalivendram to provide drinking water and food to migrant workers, who were walking along the highways.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said the state government was taking all necessary measures to send the migrant workers to their native districts by trains and buses.
