Vijayawada: BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana came down heavily on Congress, Left and AIMIM parties for instigating Muslims against the CAA (Citizenship (Amendment) Act) only to derive a political mileage.

Addressing the media here on Monday, Lakshminarayana recalled that the CAA was made into law after it was thoroughly discussed in Parliament.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that there was no harm to any section of people due to the CAA. "In spite of the assurances of Prime Minister, the pseudo secular parties are causing communal disharmony in the country," he alleged.

Lakshminarayana took a strong exception to the warm welcomed accorded to MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi by the YSRCP which supported the CAA bill in Parliament. He said that it was shameful on the part of the ruling party MLAs to participate in the anti-CAA demonstrations.

Though the NRC was not being implemented in the country, everyone was raising a hue and cry against it, he regretted.

The Chief Minister has no right to continue in the post as he was promoting communal disharmony, he said and demanded dismissal of ministers and MLAs immediately. BJP national minority cell secretary Shaik Bazi, I-Hub convener Kanu Balakrishna Mohan and others were present.

Later, Lakshminarayana met Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan at the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to him.

After meeting the Governor, addressing the media, Lakshminarayana said that he had taken several issues like burning down of Ratham and demolition of temples in Nellore to the notice of the Governor.
