Vijayawada: Four robbers nabbed, gold articles seized
The City Police have successfully unraveled the mystery of a robbery at the residence of realtor Naga Rajanikanth in Katuru village under Vuyyur police station limits. The incident took place on February 10 and the four-member gang was nabbed in less than eight days.
Vijayawada: The City Police have successfully unraveled the mystery of a robbery at the residence of realtor Naga Rajanikanth in Katuru village under Vuyyur police station limits. The incident took place on February 10 and the four-member gang was nabbed in less than eight days. Commissioner of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao produced the four-member gang before the media at Vuyyur police station on Tuesday.
According to the Police Commissioner, the accused Pala Siva alias Rajesh, Mekala Yesu, Penumaka Mahesh, Doddhi Poturaju and Pala Venu of Boddapadu village, Thotlavalluru mandal forcibly entered the residence of realtor Rajanikanth and robbed Rs.1000 cash, mobile phone and gold articles weighing 62 grams after detaining couple.
He said that the police collected clues and launched an investigation. They noticed a five-member gang which attacked the realtor and robbed gold articles from the couple. They tied the couple with ropes and decamped with cash and gold articles. The police recovered 22 grams of gold articles from the accused. Another accused is at large.
Under the supervision of Law and order DCP 1 Harshavardhana Rao and Crime DCP D Koteswara Rao a team of policemen successfully unraveled the mystery and recovered 22 grams gold articles. The accused were produced in the court later.
