Visakhapatnam: District in-charge Minister Kurasala Kannababu said that no other State has rolled out so many welfare schemes as they are in Andhra Pradesh.

Launching the second phase of the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme at Chandrampalem ZP High School under Bheemunipatnam constituency on Monday, he said education is the only tool that eradicates poverty and Amma Vodi is implemented keeping this in view. Kannababu participated in the event as a chief guest.

He was accompanied by Tourism Minister Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana and Chodavaram MLA Karanam Dharmasri.

Speaking on the occasion, Muttamsetti said Amma Vodi scheme aims at eradicating poverty and encouraging children to pursue their education without any hindrance.

Further, he said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy believes that the State and the country will stride forward if every student gets educated and that is the reason why the scheme was launched.

District Educational Officer B Lingeswara Reddy, MRO R Narasimhamurthy, zonal commissioner Boddepalli Ramu and Deputy DEO Apparao were present on the occasion.
