Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) celebrated Constitution Day on Tuesday. As a part of celebrations, Regional Centre at Visakhapatnam conducted a programme on the premises of the Regional Centre.

Visakhapatnam: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) celebrated Constitution Day on Tuesday. As a part of celebrations, Regional Centre at Visakhapatnam conducted a programme on the premises of the Regional Centre. Dr S Raja Rao, Regional Director of the Visakhapatnam Region inaugurated the programme. Floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar, the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Raja Rao urged the staff members and students to respect the Constitution and every word of its Preamble. The actual implementation of the Preamble in its own spirit would lead the country ahead in all respects, he added. The preamble of the Constitution has been displayed in three languages, English, Hindi and Telugu for the students and visitors of the Regional Centre. The

signboards with the preamble were displayed in various other locations in the premises.

The programme concluded with recital of preamble by the staff of the Regional Centre. Dr Dharmarao Gonipati, Assistnat Regional Director, A L P Rao, Assistant Registrar, other staff and students participated in the event.
