Visakhapatnam: The sand shortage witnessed has drawn severe rebuke to the state government and at the same time, many are exploring novel ways to deliver a strong message.

The crisis took a 'gifting' route as a newly-wed couple at Kotha Talarivanipalem, Anakapalle mandal received a container of sand as their wedding presentation. The incident happened on Saturday night wherein the village president of Telugu Yuvata association Talari Kasinaidu of the village gifted a container of sand to the newly-wed couple.

Indicative of the skyrocketing price of the sand which is close to the cost of a jewellery, Kasinaidu presented sand to the couple – Mamidi Poornachandra Rao and Bharati as their wedding gift. Apparently, he decided to present a box of sand to the couple as he felt that sand has now become a rare and costliest commodity in the state.

His presentation caught the attention of the guests who could not help bursting out into peals of laughter. The image of the sand gifting to the couple has gone viral in social media platforms as well.
