Visakhapatnam: The maiden India-US joint tri-services Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Amphibious Exercise, known as 'Tiger Triumph' commenced on Thursday in a ceremonious manner onboard INS Jalashwa.

The exercise represents the growing strategic partnership between the two countries and aims at sharing best practices and Standard Operating Procedures in undertaking multinational HADR operations.

A landing platform dock, INS Airavat, a Landing Ship tank, integral landing crafts and helicopters formed a part of the participating assets from the Indian Navy.

The harbour phase of the exercise will continue in Visakhapatnam till November 16.
