Visakhapatnam: R Harshitha Tiina and V Shyama Sowmya Sri bagged international dance diploma certificates in an international Youth and Sports Day Online Solo Dances and Music competition conducted by the Bogazici Folklor Birligi Genclik ve Spor Kulubu and Go To International Folk Festival in Turkey concluded on May 20.

It is not just that. While Tiina garnered 331 likes and more than 1,100 viewers for her online dance performance, Sowmya Sri earned 301 likes and over 1,100 likes in the international online dance contest so far. Trained by School of Theatre Arts, Visakhapatnam, Harshitha Tiina, Class IX student of SFS School, and Vasireddy Shyama Sowmya Sri, Class IX student of De Paul School have stood out in various competitions participated earlier.

The duo had earlier took part in the contests such as International Ethnic Folklore Festival, New Delhi, International Folklore Festival, Thailand, International Multilingual Dance Festival, Agra and National Cultural Festival, New Delhi and brought glory to the city and the state by standing out in various competitions. Tiina also won Swarna Mayuri title. Apart from folk dance, Tiina also is a learner of other Classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak.

According to choreographer R Nagaraj Patnaik, about 19 countries took part in the competition and the duo got selected for the diplomas from India.
