Visakhapatnam: Flaunting their inked finger, voters came out of the polling stations after casting their vote in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

Long queues were seen in several wards as people approached the booths to exercise their franchise.

After casting his vote at the 14th ward in Seethammadhara North Extension, Rajya Sabha MP V Vijayasai Reddy appealed to people to cast their vote and elect the right corporator who would address their woes and resolve them. He was accompanied by YSRCP leader KK Raju.

Among others, former MLA and BJP state vice president P Vishnu Kumar Raju along with his family, TDP leader Sabbam Hari exercised their franchise.

It may be recalled that only 50 percent of polling was recorded in the GVMC elections held 14 years back.
