Visakhapatnam: As part of the corporate social responsibility, Visakhapatnam Port Trust distributed notebooks and bags to students of 38 schools free of cost. The initiative was taken at a cost of Rs 36 lakh at Sri Sambamurthy Auditorium, VPT on Saturday.
VPT Chairman Rinkesh Roy said the initiative was commitment towards providing a better academic life to schoolchildren around the port area. He said the port was considering all the precautionary measures to control pollution levels. The event was attended by Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana, VPT Deputy Chairman P L Haranadh, among others.
