Visakhapatnam:'Fani' cyclonic storm formed over southeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood has now turned into a very severe cyclonic storm.

On Tuesday morning, Cyclone Warning Centre Officials mention that the cyclonic storm lay centred about 760 km southeast of Machilipatnam and 690 km east-southeast of Chennai.

The IMD mentions that Fani is expected to intensify into extremely severe cyclonic storm in the next 36 hours. They indicated that the coastline of Visakhapatnam will be impacted from Wednesday. Squally winds of 45-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to commence along and off north Coastal Andhra from Thursday. Further, the wind speed would reach 60-70 kmph gusting 85 kmph from May 3.

The sea condition is very likely to be rough or very rough along and off south Coastal Andhra Pradesh till Wednesday and thereafter the same condition prevails at north AP coast for the next two days.
