Nellore: District Secretary of TDP Ch Venkateswarlu Reddy stated that the YSR Congress government stopped dole to the unemployed, discontinued support to Anna Canteens and allocated meagre funds for various development projects in the state.

He addressed the media on Saturday in Kovur and said youth and others voted for his party with strong hopes for bright future and they were disappointed with meagre allocations. "Budget for IT was reduced this time by around 55 pc which indicates how the new government is giving priority for the youngsters. Anna canteens serving food to the poor were closed.

Coverage for normal death under Chandranna Bima was also decreased from Rs. 2 lakhs to Rs. 1 lakh and 11 important sectors were given less priority in the budget. Rs. 500 Cr for construction of Amaravati is discouraging," said Venkateswara Reddy.

He also said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier stated zero interest loans to the farmers require Rs3,000 crore, but finally allocated only Rs 100 crore for the scheme. He said that the budget for village volunteers and secretariats was also poor.
