Amaravati: TDP senior leader Jyothula Nehru on Friday blamed the Jagan Mohan Reddy government solely for the inordinate delay in the execution of Polavaram project works which came as a bane for all the farmers in the State.

Nehru deplored that the YSRCP regime made tall promises to the people but it did not make any efforts to fulfil the same after coming to power. The ruling party did not complete even one percent works on Polavaram in the past 18 months of its regime.

In a statement here, the TDP leader said that by undermining and damaging the Polavaram lifeline project, the Jagan regime was literally destroying the golden future of the young generations of Andhra Pradesh forever.

Jyothula Nehru accused minister Anil Kumar Yadav of lacking any experience to execute the project properly in order to safeguard the interests of the farmers. By shrinking the dam height, it was clear that the YSRCP had surrendered to the Centre and merely dancing to its tunes for sheer selfishness.

The TDP leader demanded the State government to take all necessary steps to retain the original dam height as per the first design. Only this will make sure that State will emerge as the only drought-free State in the country.
