Guntur: Former minister and YSRCP leader Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad is in the race for MLC ticket in the by-election to be held to elect an MLC on July 6. He is doing his best efforts to get the party ticket. YSRCP enjoys a majority in the state Assembly. The party candidate will automatically get elected in the elections. YSRCP high command is expected to announce the party candidate this evening since June 25 is the last date for filing the nomination.
Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad resigned to the MLC post on March 9 this year and joined the YSRCP. His term is up to March 29, 2023.
The ECI released schedule and notification for a by-election.
