The YSR Congress Party has once again asked the Center to grant the Special Category status to Andhra Pradesh. Similarly, the AP government has sought the centre to release the pending grants to the state. In the all-party meeting held at the Parliament Library building on Thursday, YSR Congress party leader Vijayasai Reddy and Lok Sabha member Mithun Reddy were among those who attended the meeting have put forth few aspects before the central government.

They requested the centre to release the funds of Rs 18,969 towards Revenue deficit grants, Rs. 23 thousand crores for backward districts, Rs 3283 crores for reimbursement of Polavaram grants and 47,424 crores for capital development respectively.

The AP government sought the centre to provided financial assistance for the construction of Ramayapatnam port and the Kadapa Steel Plants. Also, the MP's have asked the centre to provide industrial incentives and tax concessions to the state.
