Hyderabad: City-based Gradvine Advisors Private Limited, which provides expert guidance and mentoring online to students going abroad, is targeting $1 million revenue next financial year.

"Our admission season for this year is almost done. We are on track to clock Rs 1.5 crore revenue this financial year. We are expecting to hit $1 million mark in revenues next year (FY21) as we are getting customers from all over the world and also robing in schools for providing guidance to children interested in going abroad in future," Sreekar Sannapareddy, co-founder and CEO, Gradvine, told the media here.

Founded in 2015 by Sreekar and Suraj Peri, now Chief Operating Officer, Gradvine placed over 3,000 students in 130 universities in 16 countries and sent students to 48 of the top 50 global universities including Stanford, Harvard and Carnegie Mellon.

Significantly, students from 15 different countries availed Gradvine's services so far. The startup has a network of 450 students and professionals at the finest universities and companies, who provide mentoring to students seeking admission overseas.

A candidate, who aspires to gain admission to a particular institute, is connected to a mentor who is already pursuing the same degree at that university or has recently graduated from there.

"After our engineering, we were keen on making it to top universities abroad and so we approached several consultancies in the city.

They discouraged us from applying to top universities saying we had no chance and pushed us to apply to universities they had a tie-up with instead.

Our aim is to ensure students don't fall prey to consultancies," said Suraj.
