Hyderabad: Marking its foray into healthcare sector, city-based Katriya Group on Wednesday announced the formal opening of 550-bed Sree Lakshmi Gayatri Hospitals (SLG).

Katriya Group, which is into the hospitality sector and operates Katriya Hotel in the city, has so far investment on its first hospital which is located at fast-growing Bachupally near Nizampet in the city.

In additional to the hospital, it will also have a 120-room hotel at the location, to tap medical tourism. The hotel will be completed in next six months.

"We will invest additional Rs 100 crore to expand bed capacity to 999 over next two years," Dandu Siva Rama Raju, Chairman and Managing Director, Katriya Group, told the media here.

The facility will also have a college for nursing and hotel management and a convention centre, he added. Spread over four acres with 10 lakh sft area, the hospital-hospitality complex has world-class facilities.

It has been offering healthcare services on a modest scale for the past four months and the management now plans for aggressive growth now.

The hospital offers 75 specialties with modern medical infrastructure and has a staff of 400, including 80 consultant doctors.

"We expect the hospital to break even in two to three years' time," Dr A Rampapa Rao, Chief Executive Officer, SLG Hospitals.

The hospital is equipped with modern medical infrastructure to practice medicine with qualitative treatment protocols for desired outcomes.

"The main strength of SLG Hospitals lies in its seamless integration of clinical expertise, advanced technology, global standard practices and expert patient care," said DVS Soma Raju, the hospital's Executive Director.

The facility has roof-top helicopter landing facility for operating air ambulance.
