Announcing about the event here in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Telangana said: "Switzerland has an outstanding reputation globally as an extremely specialised production location for innovative lifescience products.

Telangana is a State committed to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and the focus of BioAsia has been centered around innovation over the years. Hence, we are truly delighted to welcome Switzerland onboard as the Country partner this 17th edition of BioAsia."

"BioAsia has been one of the best lifesciences event with almost 70-80 per cent participant recall. In the initial editions, we have witnessed collaborations to the tune of 5 per cent which has now risen to 20 per cent as of 2018," Jayesh said, adding "The event has also called for startup applications and has received close to 500 applications out of which, 100 startups will be projected as part of the event."

"Switzerland recognises India as a strategic partner in healthtech. As a country partner at BioAsia, we're bringing a holistic representation of the Swiss healthtech ecosystem spanning from corporates to startups to academia to investors," said Silvana Renggli-Frey, Deputy Consul General - Consulate General of Switzerland.
