Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Thursday assured real estate developers and company that it would initiate measures for speedy approval of realty projects

"Through opt use of technology, we can speed up the process of checking and approval of all documents by the developers. By simplifying the procedures, we can look forward to a smoother completion or approval of projects.

This will lessen the burden not just on us but also on the developers," said Somesh Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, Revenue and Chairman, RERA, Telangana.

He made these comments while delivering a special address on 'Issues and Challenges Related to GST & RERA" as part of Interactive Session and EXCON Roadshow here.

The Telangana RERA Chairman also said that steps would be initiated to enable online payments for RERA registrations to avoid manual interventions.

C Shekar Reddy, Convenor, Infra & Real Estate Panel, CII Telangana and CMD, CSR Estates suggested that RERA can play a pro-active role in promoting the real estate sector by setting up a grievance cell for developers and holding quarterly meetings for addressing their issues.

There exists GST up to 28 per cent on some building materials which also needs to be revised and rationalized, he added.

Representatives from Builders Association of India, Credai, Treda and Telangana Builders Federation took part in the event and took their issues to the government's notice.

Meanwhile, CII EXCON 2019, South Asia's largest construction equipment trade fair, will be held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru, from December 10-14 this year.

It will attract over 1250 exhibitors including over 350 overseas companies from 25 countries including China, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, UK & USA among others.

The 5-day exhibition is expected to attract over 70,000 business visitors from India and abroad.
