Arjun Reddy Tamil Remake Varma Theatre Release Unlikely, Will Stream On OTT?
When Telugu movie Arjun Reddy released, producers were vying up to grab their hands on the rights to remake the blockbuster.
When Telugu movie Arjun Reddy released, producers were vying up to grab their hands on the rights to remake the blockbuster. While the Hindi version Kabir Singh became an even bigger hit than the Telugu flick, the Tamil version hit with major roadblocks.
The Tamil version of Arjun Reddy was titled Varma. After the entire movie was made by Bala, E4 Entertainment, the banner which bankrolled the project weren't really happy with the output. They released a statement saying due to creative differences they had decided to shoot the movie all over again with Dhruv Vikram reprising the role of Vijay Deverakonda.
Now, we hear that the movie has been reshot and is all ready for release. But if a report doing the rounds is any indication then the makers are planning not to release the Arjun Reddy Tamil remake in theatres. Instead, they are toying with the idea of releasing it straight on OTT platforms. However, an official confirmation on which OTT platform Varma will be released is yet to be ascertained.
